Play it again, Sam.
After a few days of hot tea, chicken soup, and Zicam yielding no improvement, I sought professional help.
Today the doctor’s diagnosis was Streptococcus.
I guess that explains this craptastic combo of sore throat, headache, sinus issues, body aches, neck pain, difficulty swallowing, chills, and low-grade fever. I’ve never had strep throat before and I hope I never have it again. Yuck! I feel bacterially tainted.
I can't believe I hauled myself in to work every day this week. I have that 'It's only a flesh wound' mentality and sometimes I just don't know when to call it a day. I can only hope I haven’t spread this to everyone although I was extremely careful, thinking it could be viral. I’m just glad I now know what it is and have started the Augmentin to rid myself of it.
Tomorrow I’m taking my mother to her doctor’s appointment. This is the one we had postponed two weeks ago because of the snow/ice road conditions. The forecast for tomorrow is of course, again snow. I'll borrow my sister's 4WD if it looks bad when we leave in the morning.
Despite feeling poorly, I am still in good spirits. No, I’m not talking about the distilled kind of spirits. :P Although, a hot toddy would be justified. You know, for medicinal purposes. Actually I’m having a moment of Zen. Zen is the name of Tazo’s green tea with lemon and mint. Go to
Tazo tea and spin the Wheel-O-Tazo tea selector for a hot steaming cup of virtual tea. I love that site.
Other good things to negate sickly whining:
1. I’ve lost 7 pounds since the first of the year, and that was before the hot tea, chicken broth and sugar-free jello diet necessary to cater to my ailing throat.
2.
The new OotP pic makes a nice desktop background.
3. The early auditions for American Idol have amused me greatly. Even if some of these people don’t have talent, at least they have self-confidence. Of course, maybe too much in some cases. All my laughing tonight didn’t help my throat. The stunned looks on the judges’ faces at the end of the show was priceless.
4. The 2007 Book Goal is progressing nicely.

5. The snow forecast for tomorrow: 1 - 3 inches!
Hope everyone is doing well.
