“Come on, we are almost home. Only a few more miles and we can sleep in my own bed,” goaded Thranduil, as he watched Haldir stagger toward a rock and gingerly sit down. Impatiently, he added, “I wish I could carry you. You aren’t fit to walk any further.”
“And whose fault is that, Mr. ‘I’m going to poke you all night long with my steely long sword?’”
“You begged for it!”
“It was in the heat of the moment. Your fault.”
“You give as good as you get. Maybe now you will learn not to wager with a king.”
