It was a dark and stormy night.

In the mood for a good dose of shiny happy fantasy fiction, I read Madeleine L'Engle's Wrinkle in Time Quintet. This set contains the following: A Wrinkle in Time (1962), A Wind in the Door (1973), A Swiftly Tilting Planet (1978), Many Waters (1986), and An Acceptable Time (1989). Many Waters is my favorite out of the set. I've read all of the ones you've mentioned except for A House Like a Lotus so I guess I'm going to have to go find it now! There is also another book that is loosely connected to Arm of the Starfish called Ring of Endless Light.

It's kind of amazing, the things people remember, particularly about books they read quite a bit ago. And young adult literature, to me, seems very good at describing even mundane details with such creativity and care.
