I'm still a little bit behind but I'm catching up nicely, given that I didn't really read all that much the first few months of the year.
7.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, J.K. Rowling - My personal favorite Harry Potter. I enjoy the later books, too, but I like the younger Harry, when he still felt he had hope of a normal life. The last few books in the series are so . . . dark. It's a little off-putting. 4.5/5
8.
The Lucky One, Nicholas Sparks - I enjoyed this book quite a bit, I finished it in two days. The ending was particularly thrilling - but I won't say anything else! You won't get a spoiler out of me. Thibault and Elizabeth make a very sweet couple, and I loved to hate Keith (which I'm sure was the author's intention). Ben is absolutely adorable, and Zeus has a soft spot in my heart. 3.5/5
9.
Plum Spooky, Janet Evanovich - The Plum novels are all quite similar - Stephanie hunts bad guys, Lula makes a fool of herself, one of Stephanie's guys is going to act all sexy and try to ruin her life. It's quite formulaic. That said: It's fun! This book was a good time and more than once, I laughed out loud (gave my dog quite a shock). 3/5
10.
Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, J.K. Rowling - I enjoyed this one more than usual, probably because the last time I read it I was sneaking pages in between classwork as a high school sophomore. Now, as an adult, I have time to relax in my home and read without distraction. Harry's journey to maturity is as intriguing as ever. 4/5
Still reading: Certain Girls, Jennifer Wiener. I didn't read the prequel to this book, Good in Bed, so I'm feeling a little bit behind. However! It's pretty easy to get into.
Up next: The Lord of the Rings, J.R.R. Tolkien. I love this book! Yet another delicious favorite to help me boost my reading list this year. I haven't yet decided if I will count this series as one book or as three books. It was originally intended to be one book, but published into three. My copy is one giant volume of all three.
Hmm. Thoughts? How did you count The Lord of the Rings - one book or three books?
