James and I saw "Children of Men" last night and wow! The story was compelling, the acting was fantastic and the cinematography was incredible... There were these long shots of wreckage and chaos that just went on for miles... The special effects were tasteful and seamless to my eyes. Borat: Loved it. Need to see it again. Based on the nature of this film, you can't help but wonder how much of it was set up and how much of it was just random real life encounters, but in the end it doesn't matter. It is ludicrously funny and even if they saw something coming, there's simply no way anyone was fully prepared for their interaction ( Read more... )
