(no subject)
In case you missed it, here's prom nite part 1.
So, we got to the restaurant [Kabuto] and after much pushing and prodding made our way out of the limo & inside. But they made us wait for like five minutes because there wasn't a table & we were a little early I think [or maybe not, I'm not really sure]. Sunday [remembering that this happened on Saturday] was Sarah's birthday so Janet & Megan snuck off and told the waitress that we wanted to surprise her.
We finally go to sit down and Elizabeth was about to sit next to Steve but she moved really fast and I was behind her so of course I get stuck next to him AGAIN. And he thought I was like avoiding him because there was sort of a space because I wasn't going to scoot down one but then I felt bad so I did. It was Japanese [I don't think I mentioned that] and so we were all sitting around on this bench thing but it was sort of like sitting on the floor. It was kinda weird, to be honest.
We looked at the menu and ordered. Everyone got Hibachi chicken except Steve & Jessica [because they're vegetarians. Although I'm sure she wasn't before she met him...], they just got vegetables but the guy cooked the rice & stuff in egg & Steve didn't notice and he like ate all of it [I know that's horrible but it kinda made me secretly lol] & Alex got sushi but she was the only one brave enough to.
So they guy [who I need to give a name to so I will call him Jeff] came out and cooked the food & made a total production of it. And we all tried to catch pieces of squash or something in our mouths but only I think Elizabeth & [other] Sarah's boyfriend [whose name eludes me] caught theirs and Steve tried three times but the other guy got his on the second try & Jeff pointed at Steve & said "Ha! He's better than you!" And we all laughed. So Jeff's cooking and they're taking pics of him and stuff & the whole time Steve is whispering to me in a crazy offensive Japanese accent about all kinds of stuff & I'm trying not to laugh [even though it was pretty hilarious] because I don't want him to think he's won. [Yeah, I'm weird like that but I think you would totally have done the same thing] [oh, & I was totally witing for him to make a Yoko joke but he didn't] And so we eat and then they bring in the tambourines & stuff & start singing to Sarah. And we all got this terribly frozen cake but we ate it because it was good even though it was cold and Steve was complaining because he said he got the smallest piece and I'm seriously about to tell him to shut up already when they all say let's go. So we pay and stand outside while Janet, Brittany, [other] Sarah, and Megan try to hold Sarah's enormous dress so she can use the bathroom. And we finally get back to the limo, where the driver is dancing outside it to our "entrance music" whatever the heck that means. [Oh & I forgot to mention Steve freaked out because he thought the driver called him "Sweetie" once when he handed the cds back to us inside the limo. lolz. But it's probably not true]
We pile back into our original seats, except Janet & Brittany swap places. And Steve & Jessica are all curled up in the corner. They eventually fell asleep. Meanwhile, all the other couples are at the other end talking about who knows what so it's me, Brittany, Janet, & Elizabeth listening to Alex tell stupid jokes I've heard before and we they kept talking but I sort of tuned them out. I really felt like I could fall asleep but there wasn't really a way to unless I fell over sideways beside Steve & Jessica [and that would be weird unless I had passed out. lolz] so I had to just sit there & the stupid crinoline under my dress started to get itchy but finally we got to prom. When we got there, I called Shelia, who was supposed to meet us there, but later I found out that she'd been there the whole time so I got to see her for like 20 minutes before she had to go home. Which was kinda sad because I never get to see her anymore.
And I now totally hate myself that all the things I really remember about the first & second parts of my first prom experience involve Steve...
