and the madness has begun...

Thanks for the sympathies; I'm feeling much better now. A little peeved at the unknown prankster, but better.

Wow, today I had my first 'real' day at work. Not bad for a n00b. A couple of times I had a moment to stand around feeling useless but my senpai never let that last too long. Plus towards the end someone told me to alphabetize some shelves and I remembered how much I actually *enjoy* putting stuff in order like that. And yes, I know it's mindless busy-work. I don't care. I think I'll call tomorrow morning and see if they'll let me come in to finish. On the clock, of course. :-) I think they probably will. Plus it'll be a chance to make sure I filled out all the new employee paperwork correctly. See, I can multi-task!

And if they say I shouldn't come in, I could always rearrange the (many many) books at home. They're in wild disarray at the moment.

So. NaNoWriMo has begun. As of this writing, I have 1,807 words. I'm hoping to keep this pace up for at least the first week to build a bit of a buffer for those days when I just don't have the time/concentration/energy to write. Though heck, I managed this much even on a day when I was almost out of my mind with nerves over what my first day of work would be like. And with other things.

So today has been a pretty good day. I look on the fire alarm business as a bit of an adventure at this point. And that's all; it's past 1 and I'm exhausted.
