As always, I haven't updated in tooo long. It's 5:00, I'm in Alex's room on his computer waiting for him to get off work.

Life is really busy... really busy... right now. On MWF I go to school from 9:05-12:05 then work from 12:30-4:30. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I go to school from 8:00-10:45 then work from 12:30-4:30. School is the main cause of my stress right now. This is what I'm taking:

Business Law: BORING AS HECK. My teacher is a lawyer so she thinks our class is like law school... we have a quiz every single day. They all add up to a test grade. I don't think I've gotten even one right yet.

Intermediate Corporate Finance: Probably the class I am doing the best in... also the hardest. We had a test today and one girl even started crying! He puts too many problems on the test and there isn't enough time to finish them. Right now we're learning about common stock valuation/net cash flows/etc. Alex is failing it... which sucks because I'm doing pretty good but I can't seem to explain it well enough to him.

Principles of Marketing: I hate this class too. Marketing does not interest me... at all.

Business Information Systems & Tech: Tests are extremely hard... and I find it hard to go to this class because all he does is read from the powerpoints.

Personal Finance: LOVE this class.

As far as my job goes, its going GREAT. The other day Mike and Laureen (The two financial advisors I work for) called me in to Laureen's office and said they had good news to tell me. They told me how I was doing such a great job and other stuff. Then they said that after graduation they might have a full-time position for me if I'm interested. Now this is only a MAYBE. They have to become a 2 million dollar team before they could afford to have this position (my salary would come out of their paycheck). Oh, and 2 million dollar team does not mean they MAKE 2 million... it means that it how much revenue they make. They'd probably make $250,000 each I'm guessing. A financial advisors is complete commission if you didn't know (basically a glorified salesman). ANYWAY - the job I'd be doing is picking out all the money managers/portfolio allocations for the clients. I'm already learning how to do some of that now and I really enjoy it. I'm not sure what that'd be called, but... its very close to what I wanted to be (either a financial advisors like them or investment analyst). I have really, really wanted to be a financial advisor since I changed my major to finance but... the statistics are a little too discouraging. Even Mike said he has never seen a young person make it since he has been in the business. It just doesn't happen unless you have an IN with a team. That's how this is SO perfect. Mike and Laureen are both pretty old... late 50s for Mike and mid 60s for Laureen. They'll retire eventually. The ideal plan is for me to move up within the team, eventually become a financial advisor and keep the business going. Not by myself obviously, I'd have to have another person help me... but... how perfect would that be? A book of clients already made!

Of course none of this may never happen but its exciting to think about nonetheless. Since our discussion about the future, I've been invited to the "Managed Money" Seminar, another meet-and-greet seminar with clients, and I get to sit in at a meeting with Laureen and a managed money consultant. It's all really encouraging and I just had to write it all down :D

Well I better go, Alex just called :) Me and him are also doing really good!!! Right now our plan is to get engaged by the end of our senior year, work full-time for a year and save for a house payment, then get married.

I know some people might think having everything planned out is pretty dull but I don't like uncertainty, I have to have a plan. And right now... It's doing fine.
