[released December 23, 2016]
The theme of this crosstalk was "first". They talked about some first impressions, crying, being glad about having the 7 of them, and some impressions of Popolo.
Disclosure talk 1
What's the biggest impression you have from when you first met each other?
Fujii: I thought Hama-chan was a "playboy".
Kiriyama: Heeeh, that's surprising.
Fujii: When I joined, his hair was brightly coloured, kind of like Kamenashi (Kazuya)-kun. He had that kind of character. He looked cool!
Hamada: I followed the wrong path (laughs). My hair was also long.
Fujii: Because it was popular then.
Hamada: I thought it was really cool then, but now when I look at myself from back then, I'm embarrassed (laughs). When I first saw Junta, I thought to myself, "a person from Tokyo!" Because his aura was no joke, I thought "Whoa, there's a Tokyo Jr. in this kind of place!" but the other Kansai Juniors told me "he's from Hyogo, like you" and from then on, I remember the two of us would go home together.
Nakama: Yeah. What I remember is Kami-chan. He was ridiculously brazen (laughs)!
Kamiyama: I was little~.
Nakama: In the hallway during a concert, he said "Junta, give me your address." With an expression like "Hah!?" I gave it to him with an "okay" (laughs).
Kamiyama: That's nostalgic!
Nakama: But when I joined, I think I was also brazen, since we liked using the same scent. It was cute.
Kotaki: Do you remember that?
Kamiyama: I do. I was afraid of all of the seniors.
Nakama: No way!
Kotaki: You were afraid of him, but you said "Junta, give me your address" (laughs)?
Kamiyama: Ah, but when Akito-kun joined, he immediately became like an older brother. Hama-chan and Junta-kun were "seniors".
Kiriyama: In terms of my biggest first impression, Hama-chan was a little shorter than I was, and didn't know what almond jelly was, so he was surprised to see it. "What!? What is this food!?" he said (laughs). I thought "this guy seriously doesn't know what this is!?" and drew back a bit!
Hamada: That did happen~. I remember asking "Where do they sell this?" (laughs)
Disclosure talk 2
When was the first time you cried from colliding?
Shigeoka: That hasn't really happened to me. I absolutely hate crying.
Kiriyama: Why. Cry.
Shigeoka: Ehhh. That... wait (grins). Well, I've collided before, but it wasn't that hard?
Hamada: You didn't cry.
Kiriyama: It doesn't really happen.
Kotaki: It wasn't just in front of the members, but around the time our debut was announced, one of the programs had the Kansai Juniors read us letters, and I cried really hard.
Kamiyama: You did~.
Kiriyama: Moreover, you were already crying from about the first line in the letter.
Kotaki: Not only my eyes, but my face was extremely bright red (laughs). I'm no good with letters~.
Kamiyama: There are photos of your extremely bright red eyes from that time.
Kotaki: No way!! Seriously!?
Fujii: I have never cried... probably.
Shigeoka: Didn't you cry when you had to wear the "see-through tank top"?
Nakama & Fujii: Ah, there was that!
Fujii: That's nostalgic! When I think about that now, I wonder "why was I so against it then?" but it seems I really disliked wearing it.
Kiriyama: Well at that age, you disliked it.
Shigeoka: You're saying "it seems" about yourself (laughs).
Fujii: Ah, that's true (laughs). I didn't like it, but it became bad because I had been partially forced to wear it. I felt really strongly that I didn't want to wear it, and ended up crying.
Kotaki: Was I there then?
Fujii: No, you weren't. This was when I was still little.
Kamiyama: Junta-kun was also in that, didn't he appear in the first live?
Fujii: He appeared even earlier than that. I wore that twice.
Kamiyama: Eh! You wore it twice!?
Shigeoka: That did happen. This story is really nostalgic~!
Disclosure talk 3
What was the first time you thought "it's a good thing there's 7 of us"?
Shigeoka: If we talk about this, (looks at Kiriyama)... he's going to cry.
Everyone but Kiriyama: Ah, he will (noisy).
Kiriyama: I'm always thinking about this. Even during Nozomu's birthday celebration. And I always think this during lives, but the members feel like the closest fans. When we're asked to give a comment for TV programs, we're able to say something because there's 7 of us, and it helps. If I was rejected, I would cry (laughs).
Shigeoka: It's because we all like Akito-kun.
Kiriyama: Stop, stop. (while pushing against his eyes) I'm sleepy right now, so my eyes are dry (laughs).
Hamada: However, we were happy when the 7 of us were able to debut.
Kotaki: When the curtain was opened, right. I vividly remember February 5th (in 2014).
Kamiyama: It was the first day for "Naniwa Samurai Hello TOKYO!!". For the first curtain we did the play, and then for the second curtain, we were all standing by wearing costumes with the same colour. Akito-kun's narration where he said our names, and after he said "the 7 of us are going to debut", the fans cheers. The scene after the curtain opened. There were also a lot of people crying.
Fujii: I'll never be able to re-experience the atmosphere before the curtains opened. Those sensations and those emotions.
Nakama: Before we debuted, when the 7 of us were standing on the stage of Nissay Theatre, we were in different groups, but in magazine photos for interviews, we fit together really well. That's why I think the seven of us were going to be together from the start.
Shigeoka: Johnny-san, thank you very much! (laughs)
Hamada: For example, when I'm doing a short skit with someone, if I do it with someone different, I'll think "their counters are wrong~" but when I do it with a member, I'll think "Yes! That's the response I wanted!!"
Nakama: That's important.
Disclosure talk 4
Their first disclosure about "Popolo"! What can you say because it's now?
Kiriyama: When we were juniors, we weren't really put in "Popolo"~ (laughs)
Shigeoka: Wahahaha (laughs).
Kiriyama: I can say this now, but it was frustrating. (looks at the juniors that are in the magazine) How nice.
Nakama: It was practially all 7WEST.
Shigeoka: Sorry about that~ (laughs)
Kiriyama: Speaking of, a while back, when we drank the Swertia herb tea* as a punishment game for "Popolo", it was a seriously bitter version, and I thought "these guys (the magazine's staff) are serious...!"
[t/n: *センブリ茶 - senburi-cha. I actually don't know what this tea is called in English. but it's apparently a bitter tea]
Shigeoka: It's also been a while since we've met Popolo's Osaka cameraman.
Kotaki: Ah! Also, they desperately wanted to take photos of Ryusei and I being sexy (laughs)!
Fujii: I remember that really well!!
Kiriyama: If it's "Popolo", that's likely.
Shigeoka: There was some kind of cream battle (laughs)!
Kotaki: No, what I remember is having the first 3 buttons of my shirt open, my necktie hanging loose, and Ryusei grasping my dripping wet hair... (2015.11 issue)
Fujii: Back then, we were so embarrassed that we slightly resisted doing the thing with the hair, but if we were able to do it casually, that would have been more amazing (laughs)
Kotaki: Other magazines would have taken pictures from other angles!
Fujii: In that sense, they're maniacs! We're the only ones super embarrassed about it.
Kiriyama: You can only see that in "Popolo". Well, if I was asked to to do the same thing, I would have done it with full strength~. I haven't been ordered to do it yet, so I haven't done it, but Popolo-san, please ask us to do it as well~ (laughs)!
