She carefully held its fluffy body and lowered the chick back into the incubator. Its future brothers and sisters were still in their shells.
This little guy had been the first of many tiny miracles she would get to hold in her hands.

Snowflakes drifted and spun in the air, the bravest of them daring to land on her top lip.
She grinned and licked at the cool droplet.
