We worked really hard in the lab through all of September, and didn't quite get to where we wanted to be by the beginning of this month. But we learned a lot, and I feel like our experiment is making progress in leaps and bounds. It's exciting almost every day ( Read more... )

I love that phrase, offline processing. What nice way to describe that thing brains need to do sometimes. Who was in town last weekend?

Heh, it's a very literal description of the feeling :)

I guess it was two weekends ago now.. my computer died in the middle of posting, then I recovered this later.. anyway, Jen and Paul were here for a couple of days on their way home from train-related fun in southern CO, and Holly and Sammie came out for the weekend to surprise them.

It is worse than that; his great-aunt brought a bunch of genealogy documents she has :) (It was fun)

They are just all impressed that I can explain the different kinds of cousins.

Isn't there a book? I rememeber a book, a whole bound book on the subject of relatives. I remember reading one because I also secretly dig that stuff.

I'm jealous you got to see toddler Sammie!

Yeah, the one about the cottage? That was written by Bill's mother, if I'm not mistaken, so it is about his side of the family. It was especially interesting for me to hear about Barbara's side, because her parents had both lived in Denver. Jen has a note that she has a vase given to the family by the Wadsworth family- Wadsworth is the street where Russ & Angi live!

Toddler Sammie is pretty sweet. She's kind of at a frustrating age, where she can understand a lot but not say very much. So there's a little bit of 20 questions in trying to figure out what she wants. She loved seeing people play music on Pearl St.

BTW, I've enjoyed your photo updates about the house. It looks like it is coming together quickly. Also, the tennis ball cake was pretty fantastic :)
