Woah...

Aaaahahahaha!! I'm on Internet TV!

Only for about two seconds, but still!

Basically - I got to Latitude last month and found an outdoor showing of Moulin Rouge (1928) which was also being rescored.  Sat down, and promptly got interviewed by some bloke from BAFTA.  I look a RIGHT mess, and that's on the FIRST night!  And the clip that they used was me talking about plots of silent films.  It's about two minutes from the end.

Er...right, properish update, whilst I'm here!

On The Bike Front:  STILL in the process of buying my bike.  We were meant to go and get it today (Saturday) but I finished work at 2, then the rents thought we had enough time to eat lunch.  AND THEN, I had to sign my CBT certificate onto the other copies, which meant getting to the training school - who were all over the place cause it's been a crappy day with crappy weather and crappy bikes!  AND THEN we rang St Albans (who I'm getting my bike from) and they said we had to be there for 4:30 to deal with the paperwork even though they close at 5.  That was at 4:15 and it takes half an hour in good traffic to get over there.  *EPIC SAD FACE*  So it's being delivered, probably Tuesday.  Not very happy about it, but at least then I WILL have a bike.  I've been telling everyone that I know I would be getting it Saturday though.  Grrrr....

Last Weekend:  was insane!  Friday night was AWESOME.  Saturday at work was less so.  Started at 7 on about 3 hours sleep.  Getting ready for the Hen Night I had a fit of conscience and last-minute changed what I was wearing, causing me to be late.  DIDN'T manage to get Toni to stay out with us, which was irritating.  Came back to the hotel at about 2:30 am with Mandie, citing tiredness!
Got up at 8 to go to Luton train station for the 9:14 train to find that Amy was still at home in bed.  She then argued that I had said 9:30 (which I hadn't) and forgot not only her CF card for her camera, but her VISA card to buy a new one with.  Which resulted in us wandering around London looking for a camera shop in which to buy (with MY card) a new CF card.  DID manage to catch the Ukes.  Amy reckons they'd do well at having a pop at Journey, which, having thought about it, they really would!  Tested some smoothies, gained two (free) cartons of Carrot and Mango (quite nice actually!) and had some GORGEOUS brownies and banana cakes.

Arcola Tuesday:  Well, that was fun!  Had work, got picked up by my dad who was coming down with me and then caught the SLOWEST train from Tring to Euston.  Yelled at dad for disputing my travel plans (which I'd been researching all week due to the assumption I was to be going on my own)  Got to the Arcola pretty much dead on 8, which meant I had to rush past the UOGB, who were outside talking with people, to get my tickets from the Box Office.  I only caught the two first shows (A Man Of Feeling and Dreamspiel) before dad said we had to try and get back because he had to get up for work the next morning.  Had another few arguments on the way home about navigation.
Dreamspiel was brilliant though.  Not so much an opera as a song cycle.  It's only a work in progress at the moment, but if I see another showing of it ANYWHERE I am there!  Wonderful mix of seriousness and humour, fantasy and nightmare and sung by such beautiful voices!

Thursday, the mythical "day off":  Went over to Leighton to catch up with Graham (my other boss) and some of his filing.  Next timeI can probably get over and see him is in a fortnight.  *headdesk*  Met up with Neil when I got back into town.  I havn't seen the guy in a YEAR!  Terrible!  He's getting on well at Uni, if a little un-confident, but he'll get there.  We bummed around town for a while and then rented Son Of Rambow from Blockbusters.  GREAT FILM!!  I can't find a word to describe it well enough!  The first copy skipped, but luckily I'm only five minutes round the corner, so we took it back and got a better copy.  I am in LOVE with that film!  Also - I've had The Cure's Close To Me stuck in my head since Thursday!  I walked Neil back to his and we swung on the swings for a solid HOUR!  It was fun.  I miss being able to just go to the swings - after you turn about 12 the social norm is that they're for kids.  But swings are awesome!  The only thing less awesome about them?  The fact that I seemed to have sprained my neck on them...How OLD does that make me feel!!  Worst thing is - I sprained my neck on the fairground rides at Download too!

And that brings me back to today!  Ooh!  I also got BOTH of my BPAL orders this week - one on Tuesday (that I had to pick up Wednesday) and the other arrived this morning!  Scary influx of about 15 bottles and 30ish imps!  AND a Snow, Glass, Apples chapbook.  I've been too scared to open it yet - for fear I'll mess it up!

Anyhoo - must go sleep!
