Ooh, this really reminds me of Jay's description of what it was like to fall out of a tree onto a metal spike, which I guess is similar to being stabbed, except in the leg. He said it just sort of itched, and then he realised he could see the bone in his leg. That's TMI, isn't it?
Anyway, it works, obviously, because it's so accurate I think.
Not really TMI, I found it very interesting! Although rather ouchy to hear about. Did it START hurting after he saw the bone? Thank you for sharing that and I'm glad you felt the fic worked, yay! :D
No, I don't think it did. But he sort of freaked at that point and suggested his friend called an ambulance...! It hurt later, when he was in hospital.
Yeah, if I could see my own bone, I think I'd suggest ambulance was a good idea too! And hope it got there with painkillers BEFORE the pain kicked in ...
I think they did. But (he was about 10), they asked him whether he wanted his mum, and he said "no!" because he thought she'd tell him off for being somewhere he shouldn't have been - and his mum felt obliged to tell the hospital staff that she didn't abuse him!
Anyway, it works, obviously, because it's so accurate I think.
