Title: Dignity for Sale
Fandom: Doctor Who/Animorphs
Rating: G
Word Count: 100
Summary: The Daleks are conquerers of all worlds ... well, except one ...

The Daleks were the conquers of the universe. The masters of all planets. What they saw, they conquered.

Mostly. Usually, that was the Doctor’s fault. In this case however …

“Honoured Masters! Let me sell you memories of far away places! See the other planets from a different perspective!”

“Let me buy your eyestalk! Just a little bit of it?”

“Perhaps you would like to buy furnishings for your spacecraft, Honoured Masters?”

The Daleks just didn’t like to talk about the time they’d visited the Iskroot’s world. It was just … well. Embarrassing.

Especially since they’d bought some blue trimmings.

Title: Changing
Fandom: Animorphs
Rating: G
Word Count: 220
Summary: Melissa can't understand why everyone is so different now

Everyone around me has changed and I don’t know why.

Mum and Dad both changed months ago. They have secret conversations together and go quiet whenever I come into the room. Dad shouts more than he used to, like I’m just an annoyance. Mum ignores me more too. I thought maybe they were going to get a divorce but it’s not like when Rachel’s parents split up. They don’t fight with each other, not at all. They just don’t seem to like me any more.

And now Rachel’s changed too. We used to hang out all the time. She was my best friend. I mean, I always knew how much she liked Cassie but that didn’t mean we weren’t best friends. I wasn’t a kid or anything. Someone can have more than one best friend.

Looks like I was wrong though. Rachel only ever seems to hang out with Cassie these days. She’s different too. Snappish and rude and she’s practically dropping out of gymnastics. She doesn’t even seem to go shopping like she used to.

I know everyone said that things change when you grow up. But I never thought it would be this bad. Is it my fault? Did I change somehow? I don’t think I did. I think I’m grown up and mature. I think I’m nice.

I just wish I knew.

Title: Concealment
Fandom: The Demon Headmaster
Rating: G
Word Count: 182
Summary: Dinah is used to hiding things

Dinah was reading a maths book. She had disguised it with the cover of a romance novel so that nobody would know. She had to be careful with that. If she picked the wrong sort of romance, there was a possibility that people would ask to borrow it, or that the staff would confiscate it because it was too racy looking. She needed to pick something harmless, something that would be dismissed after a quick glance. Dinah had had plenty of practise of this by now. She was used to concealing what she wanted to read.

She wished she didn’t have to be though. It would be wonderful to think that things would one day be different. That soon, she would be able to change. But she didn’t seen that happening any time soon. This was life and she was used to it now.

“Dinah!”

Someone was calling her name. Dinah sighed and tucked the book under her arm. Better go and see what they wanted. She headed downstairs quietly, trying to look interested.

“Wonderful news, Dinah! We’ve found you a family!”

Title: Forgetting
Fandom: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Rating: G
Word Count: 186
Summary: It's like Buffy's time in hospital never happened.

Mom and Dad both made her promise separately that she wouldn’t talk about it.

“I mean it, Dawn. Buffy’s better now. There’s no point reminding her of that terrible place. So let’s just not talk about it.”

Dawn didn’t want to talk about it anyway. She’d missed Buffy while Buffy had been in hospitals. She’d been scared that maybe she wouldn’t see her again. Mom and Dad hadn’t let her go in to visit. They thought she was too young. Dawn had imagined her sister shuffling round like a zombie with creepy eyes and drooling. Maybe Buffy would be like that when she came home. Maybe she wouldn’t be Buffy any more.

She wasn’t though. She looked perfectly normal really. Just like she used to. And she behaved like she used to too, complaining when Dawn borrowed her clothes, teasing her when she felt like it, watching movies and hogging all the popcorn. It really was like all that stuff had never happened, especially as they never talked about it.

But it had though. Dawn knew that. It had happened and she would never ever forget.

Title: Postcards
Fandom: Doctor Who/Bones
Rating: G
Word Count: 234
Summary: Zack sends postcards about his new job.

Zack’s first postcard simply read Yes.

“It’s our code,” Hodgins said proudly. “We made one up before he left. That means that he’s had to sign an official secrets act.”

Everyone ignored this. For some reason, none of them seemed to care. Hodgins sulked. If Zack was going to go off to Britain to join their branch of UNIT (and what was UNIT? No one seemed to have a very good answer!), Hodgins was going to keep an eye on him, even from America.

The next postcard read I can’t find anything good to eat for breakfast here.

“That means that whatever he is doing isn’t covered by our code,” Hodgins said anxiously.

Everyone continued to not care until an ancient box was delivered to the Jeffersonian. No one was quite sure why it was sent to their section until Cam carefully prised off the lid, revealing what seemed to be an incredibly old, yellowing postcard with faded writing on the back.

The Doctor said this would reach you guys. I’m having a very nice time but the Doctor is often very irrational. I expect I’ll come back although I’m not quite sure when as the Doctor cannot pilot his time machine very well. I know time machines are inherently illogical but the Doctor has one anyway. Send another postcard soon. Z.

“Okay then,” Cam said and really, that went for all of them.
