"If you meet the Buddha on the road, kill him." - Buddhist proverb

Some of the things I've been thinking about recently beg the question of how I define "success" at the game of life. The simplest articulation that I've been able to come up with is "success is living my life the way that I want to live it". That hardly means getting what I want - a lot of that isn't even available in our civilization. But it does mean that I'm determined to achieve a personally fulfilling manner of life, whatever my physical circumstances, and regardless of the norms and values of society at large.
