Brer Rabbit's Riding Horse

I think another Story Time Wednesday is long overdue. By like a year- and I'm bored- so here goes...
Brer Rabbit's Riding Horse-

Brer Rabbit was chatting with the Possum family. "My father used to ride Brer Fox, he boasted. "He was quite a good riding horse." Of course, the Possums laughed at this joke. "We don't believe it," they said. "Show us how he did it!"
The next day when Brer Fox passed his door, Brer Rabbit cried, "Please help me, Brer Fox. I want to go to the Possums' party but I've hurt my foot. May I ride on your back?" Brer Fox saw this as a good chance to give Brer Rabbit a rough time, so he agreed and dressed himself in a saddle, bridle, and reins.
They rode awhile before Brer Fox asked, "Why are you wriggling, Brer Rabbit?" "Just shortening the stirrups a bit," answered Brer Rabbit with a grin. He was really putting on spurs. When they came to the Possums' house, where Brer Fox had meant to toss Brer Rabbit to the ground, Brer Rabbit dug in his spurs to make Brer Fox gallop up the path in fine style.
Brer Rabbit jumped off and tied Brer Fox to the railing before he could make a move. Brer Rabbit walked up to the astonished Possum family. "I told you he was a good riding horse. He will be even better when I've trained him a little!"

The End
