It had only been one or two times that he had noticed it, since Rain didn't sit at that spot in the hall often, but over the last few weeks he noticed one of his classmates following after a group of giggling girls gowned in.... yellow (he failed to think of a good word that started with 'g' to describe that hue). So today he decided that he wanted to play along as well.
Packing up his computer and storing it in his bag, the boy adjusted his glasses and followed after the girl who was following after the herd. As he trailed casually behind her, the young man went through a mental list of names in his head. Who was she again....? Second row, third seat....
Once the other females were gone and the petite blonde was left peering after them, Rain arched an eyebrow. "Dunning-san, playing hide-and-seek against some unsuspecting victims now, are we?" Ah, he hoped that was the right name.
Anita nearly jumped out of her skin when the voice rang out behind her, but she did her best to remain composed as she turned to face the boy behind her. Caught right in the act. Red-handed. No way out. How long had he been following her? Had he been there the entire time? Well, this was awkward. She would've immediately questioned how in the word he knew her name, but the face was familiar. He was definitely a boy from her class, but not one that she ever remembered talking to much. A little embarrassed, her eyes turned toward the ceiling while she tried to remember what he went by.
"Sorry, my curiosity just got the better of me, but I wasn't aware that a Blue Bird was flying behind me. That was rather sneaky of you, you know." The girl finally said, turning her gaze back to him with a friendly smile, though she was still trying to think of a good excuse she could cover over her actions with.
Rain couldn't help but frown as she used the nick-name 'blue bird'. "I prefer 'sapphire fowl'," he returned lightly, giving a sigh and knocking some of his red hair from his face. But all the same, he gave the girl a cheerful smile. "I'm a very sly person, Dunning-san. Though, probably not nearly as sly as you are..." At this, the young man trailed off and craned his neck around the wall to watch the girls disappear.
He looked down at her, the girl considerably shorter than he was. Nearly a foot, if he had to guess. "Your family does some kind of investigation, am I right? Are these girls wanted criminals? I can chase them down and tackle them for you, if you like." Rain offered a charming grin, even though he wasn't serious.
Her smile only grew with his reply, but his next series of questions were something to be avoided. She wasn't sure how he knew of her family's business, but it just would not do, especially not if he was going to go pounce on the innocent. Looking up at him, she gave a short laugh and shook her head. "No, no, they're not criminals and that's just a rumor. We're in the sales business. We sell... helpful household items door-to-door. In fact..."
Anita took a few steps away from him and paused with her hand to her chin. She examined him throughly from top to bottom before giving a quick nod. "You look like an out-doorsie sort of fellow! Or maybe you just get fed up with dull scissors and steaks knives that just won't cut all the way through! You might be interested in our latest product: the almighty samurai shark!"
What an odd conversation this was turning out to be! For whatever reason she had assumed he would just believe her and move on with his life, but instead it seemed as if he was challenging her statement. Well, two could play at that game then!
Anita lifted her chin and placed her hands upon her hips in an equally joking manner. "Oh, well aren't you Mr. High-and-mighty? You have to keep in mind that there are more common people in this world than there are wealthy, and that certain group of people seems to enjoy convenient objects that can save them money in the long run. Things do add up, so I'd say it's easy to make money in a business like that. It's elementary!" She nodded to herself once more, crossing her arms and smiling with confidence.
"...Besides. You don't have to believe me, Sapphire Fowl, but you could at least play along. Understand?" Her expression again turned genial with that continuation, giving him a quick wink before her head tilted once more to see if the other girls were still there.
With a grumble in his stomach and a lazy yawn escaping the third year senior, Hani happily strolled down out of his classroom and down the hall in order to meet up with everyone in the usual 3rd music room. Humming a delightful tune while greeted by the passing students (mostly girls squealing for that matter), he soon spots two familiar-looking individuals chatting amongst themselves but in a rather... suspicious way. With an occasional peek around the corner by the girl, the blond's eyes widened in curiosity as to what was going on.
Cocking his head to the side, he skipped towards them and couched in between with a cheesy smile on his face. His hands cupped over his knees, he giggled before voicing himself for the two to hear. "Wha~t are you guys doing~♥?"
[[ooc: LOLOL sorry had to jump in~ =>W<=;; feel free to go out of order and skip me to keep your conversation flowing~<333 Let me know if I've ruined something planned~ =>W<=;;; Thanks!]]
(ooc: no no problems!! xDD hehehe I'm glad I checked here or I wouldn't have noticed~~)
British, Rain realised. That was the accent he caught. Again, he frowned as she switched to use 'Sapphire Fowl'. She didn't have to take that seriously.... At the wink, he gave a large "Oooooh...." and a nod, winking in return. "Of course, do forgive me. My acting isn't up to par."
There was a small flash of blonde at the level of his waist--causing the red-head to look over in surprise. "Ah, Haninozuka-senpai! On your way to the Host Club, I suppose?" He gave the senior a polite smile, shifting his bags to offer a small bow as well.
That taken care of, he turned back to the girl. "And I don't think we've ever been properly introduced." He held out one hand towards her. If she was British, then a handshake would be proper. "I'm Rain Green-Fish. So please, no more Blue-Bird of Sapphire-Fowl." Rain gave her a crooked smile.
His acting wasn't up to par? She let out another short laugh at that and opened her mouth to reply, but another figure bounced into the hall. Yet another boy she had seen before, but this was someone seen much less often. Still, it was hard to miss the tiny upperclassman whenever she had happened to pass by him in the hallways. Despite his class, his age was something to be questioned due to not only his height, but his appearance. Simply put, he looked far too young to be a third year student. However, finding out his actual age was not the priority currently in her mind. She was curious about the activities of this 'Host Club', and that's where this boy was heading apparently. Anita eyed him curiously. He seemed mostly normal... Well, no, normal wasn't quite the word for him. He wasn't the type of boy you'd normally see in an academy, but at least he wasn't the sort that seemed like a murderous cultist. She gave him grin and a quick nod of greeting. "So, you're the infamous Haninozuka-senpai?" Perhaps if she was crafty enough she

Noticing that the red-head had recognized him, Hani brightly smiled in response to his. With a quick nod of his head, the blond chirped with delight. "YUP~♥ That's right~" Come to think of it, he had seen them both roam the halls a few times but never had a chance to converse with either one of them, he thought. Luckily hearing the names being exchanged, he put an effort to remembering it. Rain and Anita- With that said, it was quickly deciphered to his own language and spit back out for the other to know the cuteness he had added to their name.
"Guri-chan~ (taken from Green) and Ani-chan~ (taken from Anita) should come too! We have lots of cake there~!!" Putting him in a slight daze as he bobs his head side to side thinking about the sugary-goodness, his hunger made its presence known again with another growl. "Ah!" Placing his hands on his stomach, he giggled while rubbing his belly. "Eheheh~ I forgot I was hungry~"
Rain smiled, lightly kissing the tops of her fingers (that was a British custom, wasn't it? Or was it purely French? He hoped she would forgive him if it was just the French). "Charming," he said in reply, releasing her hand and shifting his bags back between his own. "Blame my parents on my name. It really doesn't match, does it?" One hand strayed absently to his bangs.
He arched an eyebrow down at the senior at his new nick-name (which was certainly better than either Blue Bird or Sapphire Fowl). "To the Host Club?" The young man let out a small laugh. "I'm sorry, senpai, but I don't think I would fit that setting all too well. Besides, I have my own club to go to later." To emphasise his point, he lifted the bag that carried his precious laptop.
Anita's expression brightened as he pecked the tops of her fingers, and her hand moved to cover over another giggle when he released it. A bad actor, but he was quite the gentleman. Not that anything less should be expected from a boy wealthy enough to just go out and buy a new pair of scissors. "No, you're more of a Red-Herring." She replied with a nod at his comment.
Then came the odd nickname and offer from the other male. Go to the Host Club for cake? She wasn't sure what was more sugary, the cake or Haninozuka, but she wasn't sure on what to do. To go to the Host Club or to not go to the Host Club. That was a rather difficult decision. On one hand she would be able to find out what they do here and on the other it was almost like stepping straight into the lion's den. If they were some sort of cult, she didn't want to get involved

(ooc: SLDKJF SLDFKJ YER ICONS ARE SO CUTE CARA. ps tantei = detective xD)
A red-herring? Rain let out a laugh, clearly amused by the double-meaning behind his second new nick-name. But then came the cheerfully deceiving look from 'Ani-chan', and the sound turned from the amused laugh to an uneasy chuckle. "Mah, wait a minute, Tantei-san," he said, holding up his hands the way one would if they were trying to placate a begging child.
"I'm not just going to waltz into the host club." The idea was certainly amusing enough, but it wasn't plausible. "You'll be more safe in there than I will be, by any means." Rain offered her an equally cunning grin disguised as a charming smile. "The only boys in that room are members of the Host Club, while everyone else are their delighted female customers. I would stick out like a sore thumb--one blue suit too many

The Host Club members were all male, but they had no male customers? On that note... the girls that went there were customers. What wanton sort of business were they running in that room without any adult supervision?! Her mind was quickly shifting through the worst possible scenarios found in mystery movies every now and then, but all of that was nothing she would expect in a high class school such as Ouran. It was simply... scandalous! That's exact what it was! But no, no, no, no, it couldn't have really been what she was thinking. She shook her head at her own assumptions, knowing very well that it couldn't possibly be that bad. Jumping to conclusions would get her nowhere. Back to the much more important matter of the moment
( ... )
His expression changing from a sad one, to a happy one, and back to the sad one, the boy was thrown into an emotional loop by the two underclassmen as he patiently waited for their response. Hani knew that Kyouya was looking for more customers (of course not knowing/caring that the amount of cake he eats at the club was causing the club to lose a certain percentage of their budget but nonetheless) and Tamaki would be delighted to see new faces. The king was highly proud of the club he had established and nothing made him happier to help it grow. Overall, he thought it would be fun~♥ Recognizing that the hall they were was the underclassmen wing, he quickly grew a sly smile as he made another attempt to invite potential new friends

Making his stealthy appearance (as was usual) Nekozawa said in a low, dark voice, "I feel something amiss in the Host Club."
