One of my co-workers was gone yesterday. (He had complained of being mildly ill the previous week, so I thought he got sicker over the weekend.) He was there today and another co-worker asked him if he had taken a sick day. He didn't take a sick day for himself, he took a sick day to be with his wife while she donated a kidney to a total

And the last time I was motivated I found out I had a (temporary) health condition that prohibited it.

The co-worker who had asked the initial 'were you sick' question made the point that being engineers, we're all left-brain thinkers and err on the side of caution and not donate. Kudos to you for wanting to donate.
