Rose Parade
How bummed am I that there was no Rose Parade on television this morning? I was looking forward to looking at the floats, but evidently Sunday morning programming trumps a New Years Day that falls on a Sunday. Even HGTV didn't have it on. I wouldn't have been able to watch much of it anyway. I had to take the husband to meet his son so he could go back to the other house. (I picked him up on Monday when we went to my parents house for Christmas and brought him back with me to this house for the week.) We were supposed to do the swap yesterday but I had a dog adoption (thank the heavens) to do so we went today. In the rain. And then the sleet. Well, the sleet didn't happen until I was almost home. Not long after I got home the snow started. It's still snowing, 5 hrs later. It's not a lot that's coming down, but the wind sure is up out there. I'm thankful that I'm not working at the home tonight. Driving in the dark with wind blowing snow around while trying to navigate the back roads is sure exciting-and scary if you don't stay on the road.
I have tomorrow off as well. I desperately need to mop the kitchen, and take down the Christmas tree. The damn dogs chewed through 2 strings of light this year. I stopped at the store coming home this afternoon and they had sold out before Christmas. How is that possible?
