For the last month I've been tormented by a decision that I have to make. The decision is to quit the current job and go back to a day job in the rehab unit of the nursing home where I worked or stay in the current job until July. It's a contract job so it will end at some point, when is the question. Let's list the pros and cons.
Rehab pros: day job, work every other weekend, work from 7 a.m. - 3 p.m., commute is 15 minutes, physical (won't have to exercise), potential for office-type duties in the future; beach time in better weather; more time at home-dogs don't have to be crated for 10.5 hrs each day; ability to let me search for a job in coding
Rehab cons: obnoxious nurse to work with; office-type duties may not materialize; less money (11+/hr vs 16/hr); physical (have bum angle); work every other weekend
Current job pros: money (obviously); potential to get back into Proe work, and thus other design jobs; work with more intellectuals, exposure to more bigger, better stuff; every weekend off
Current job cons: commute-1 hr each way, resulting in a 10.5 hr day; weather for commute; no definite commitment to letting me do Proe work; has an end date of July; when it ends, I go back to the bottom of the pile at the home and work in the sucky hall; not a lot of interaction w/ other groups (tied to my tube doing database management)
I have changed my mind a dozen times each day. Internet peeps, help! I need to make my decision by next weekend. I really want to have it made by Monday.
