For a fleeting moment I thought about sharing my place..but came to the same conclusion...what is to keep "any" refugee from taking all my shit when I'm at work or sleeping?
I looked at it this way. I'd be giving a person who has just lost everything a place to stay until things get better for them. On the other hand, I'd be giving a person who has just lost everything an unlocked apartment from which to rob me fucking blind and leave me as poor as they were when they got to me.
I feel bad for them...but I'll keep giving my donations and volunteer hours.
i agree 100%. although some of the help we're giving is being appreciated, i seriously doubt that there aren't alot of people taking advantage of the situation. i'm sure these same people were also taking advantage of the government and our tax dollars living there. one's a leech always a leech...
Nothing I disagree with.I grew up a poor Russian(LEGAL)immigrant. I put in 7 years in the USMC to pay off my patriotic debt. I've known plenty of people to join the military and not a gang or a welfare line.
Patriotic debt? Since when does a country that was built by the hands of immigrants, who declared it the land of the free, impose "patriotic debts" on new immigrants?

The people I spoke of have no goals. They are useless and should die, swiftly.

I know it's difficult to comprehend. Selflessness and honor, loyalty and dedication... Principles the left abandoned tens of years ago.
So let's not demean the man's respectable deeds, shall we?
