Title: Are Were-pigs a Thing?
Prompt Choice: Full Moon
Pairing/Characters: Stiles, Scott, Ryoga Hibiki, and a little bit of Derek and very brief Lydia
Rating: G
Medium: Fic
Word Count: 607
Fandoms: Teen Wolf (TV) and Ranma 1/2
Disclaimer: I don't own Teen Wolf, Ranma 1/2, or any related characters.
Summary: There’s a really weird guy visiting Beacon Hills.
Warnings: Spoils to the end of Teen Wolf Season 4 and the revelation of Ryoga’s curse in Ranma 1/2. Majorly cracky!
Notes: Jusenkyo curses are fairly similar to were-creatures, in my opinion. Also, if anyone can manage to end up on the wrong side of an ocean by foot, Ryoga can.

When the very odd man who could only speak minimal English set up a tent in the park, everybody figured he was some kind of transient. Stiles might have let it go at that, but this guy wasn’t just eccentric, he was highly suspicious levels of weird.

For one thing, he popped up randomly all over the place, sometimes literally through walls or out of the ground. Stiles wouldn’t believe it if he hadn’t seen it. That had to take superhuman strength, right? He also had unusually long canine teeth. For another, he kept asking for directions to Tokyo.

“Like, on foot?” Stiles had questioned when the stranger asked him.

“Yes,” the guy had agreed with a sharp nod. “Which way?”

“Dude,” Stiles had told him, “at this point you could pick any direction and it’s about the same.”

The man had hurried off, apparently finding Stiles unhelpful.

Stiles had followed him, but he vanished after walking into a section of the park where the sprinklers had just started. He’d left his giant rucksack sitting in the middle of the grass, and there was absolutely no living creature in sight except for a small, black piglet that seemed highly disgruntled. Stiles double-checked his calendar on a hunch. It had been a full moon.

Stiles had called Lydia first. “Is there anything in the bestiary about were-pigs?”

“I’m hanging up now,” had been her helpful advice.

Stiles went to Scott next. He should have gone there first.

“Are were-pigs a thing?” Scott asked.

“That’s what I want to know! Come with me and, I dunno, sniff the guy. That should tell you something, right?”

Trying to covertly sniff someone was hard. They probably should have remembered that from before.

“I guess he kinda smells like pig,” Scott admitted after finally getting a good whiff, “but what if it’s his pet or something? Maybe we could just ask him?”

“Yeah, there’s no way that could backfire.”

“You said the pig was tiny, right? What’s he gonna do?”

Stiles sighed. “Remember the strength thing? Plus, he totally has fangs. He could bite. I’m not sure he knows very much English, either.”

This led to them asking for backup from Derek, a multi-lingual werewolf with often helpful knowledge of monsters who totally still owed them for stuff.

“There’s no such thing as a were-pig,” Derek told them flat-out, complete with judging eyebrows.

“You don’t know everything!” Stiles retorted in a completely mature way. “Just come be our translator.”

Derek finally agreed after some insistent requesting that was absolutely neither harassment nor whining.

A short conversation in Japanese that involved some interesting facial expressions and lots of gesturing later, it was confirmed that were-pigs were not a thing. In this case.

“He said he’s cursed,” Derek explained. “Cold water turns him into the piglet, and hot water changes him back. It was the sprinklers that you saw change him; it had nothing to do with the full moon.”

“Did he seriously walk all the way from Japan?” Stiles wanted to know.

Derek nodded with a shrug. “Apparently, this isn’t the first time he’s wound up on the wrong continent.”

Ryoga, as it turned out was his name, declined the offered gift of a plane ticket home from Derek, but he told them if they were ever in Tokyo and in need of assistance, they could ask for it at the Tendo Dojo. It took the guy about ten tries to actually leave town.

“It’s nice when everything ends with minimal property damage and loss of life, huh?” Scott mused. The other two grunted in agreement.
