Haruhi was standing in a hallway, reading a bulletin-board posting and smiling happily to herself.
Kyon walked up. "Look, Kyon!" said Haruhi proudly. "I made the honor roll again!"
"You're even one of the top ten students in our class for this semester," Kyon said approvingly. "Congratulations, Haruhi! It's remarkable that you can do, uh, exactly whatever it is that you do, and still get such good grades."
"Thanks," Haruhi said sincerely. "I really appreciate that. So... do you think you could start addressing me as 'the honorable Haruhi Suzumiya'?"
"No," a genuinely amused Kyon said, "I don't think so."
