Kyon overheard Haruhi snickering at her desk behind him. "What?" he asked her as he turned around.
"My magazine has a stupid Christmas advertisement with reindeer," Haruhi said. "As if reindeer really existed."
"They do exist," Kyon said.
Haruhi smirked. "Not you too!"
"No, really. In fact..." Kyon pulled out a biology textbook, flipped through it, and pointed it out. "Yeah, there they are. Right there."
Haruhi blinked. And then, she hung her head, suddenly so embarrassed that she was obviously near tears. "Don't you dare tell anyone about this," she whispered.
"I won't tell a soul," Kyon said kindly.
