Last Words {Elegance of Envy} {March Fourth}
Title: Last Words

Character/Pairing: Emmeline Vance and Evan Rosier.
Genre/Warnings (as applicable): There's death.
Rating: PG-13 I guess since there's death involved.

"...its the end of the line, Rosier." Moody growled, his voice scratchy as he clutched his nose which looked as if it had a large chunk now missing from it as the blood streamed down his hand.
It was almost too much for her to take in as she stood in the doorway, watching as the two people in the room stood before each other, there wands pointed, ready for use.
"Get out of here, Vance." He rasped, knowing she was their but not looking directly at her, not wanting his attention to waver from the death eater before him, that was stupid and far to dangerous of a chance to take, and he could see her anyway, with his magical eye spinning.
"Emmeline." Evan whispered, taking his attention off of the auror to look at her, though his wand was still out pointed at him.
And that was all it took. In the moment his attention shifted, it happened. Emmeline saw it coming but by the time she had managed to cry out, "Evan!" it was too late. Moody had already uttered the words of death directed at Evan, "Avada Kederva!"
She couldn't even find her voice to scream, moving swiftly to the side of the man she loved. He had no time for last words of love and goodbye, but though he couldn't say it, he managed to get it across to her how he felt.
Tears spilling from her own eyes, she watched as Evan looked at her, a gleam of light in his eyes. The light of love, the light that had always been there when he'd looked at her. And in an instant, it was gone. The gleam, and his life, all at once.
