Bitter Reminders
Satoshi visits his mother's grave.
He says nothing to her. He does not tell her how life is, does not tell her that he misses her.
He does not bend down to the ground to feel closer to her. He stands straight up, and only stands in a place that is close enough for him to do what he feels he needs to do.
Instead, he leaves flowers.
He leaves a flower for all the times that she reached out to touch him, for all the times she had quickly pulled back.
He leaves a flower for all the times when he had wished that she would tell him that she loved him.
He leaves a flower for Krad, because that was who she had despised the most, and he wants her to remember the monster.
He leaves a flower for his father, who had every reason in the world to abandon them the way he did.
He leaves a flower for everything that he never said, and for everything that he will never say.
He leaves a flower for himself, because she had hurt him the most, whether or not she knew it.
And he simply walks away without a care in the world.
