Anticipation
(The Drum-Roll)
The moment leading up to it,
The anticipation.
It’s all you’ve been thinking about
But you can’t bring yourself to.
Not because you’re scared
Or that you don’t want to,
But because the moment
Isn’t as perfect as she is.
So small talk is the way to go,
And talking about anything.
It’s just so easy when you’re with her,
And that’s how it should be.
Still that moment won’t be ignored,
Wanting more now than before,
But you hold back, waiting,
Wondering how long you can hold on.
Looking deep into her eyes
And seeing that she wants it too,
And trembling in anticipation,
That doesn’t happen often.
That’s the only thing her eyes have said
Since you got in the car.
It’s amazing how her eyes are saying
Everything her mouth cannot.
You are glued to one another,
Fixated on each other.
You could feel the chills
That went down the side of her body.
There’s no one you’d rather be with,
There’s no other place you’d rather be.
And gazing deep again,
Her pupils widen just a bit.
You realize the moment is right,
More that every moment is right with her.
You begin to move in toward her
From the passenger seat.
She sees this, knows this
Knows how much this moment means.
Closer, closer still,
The distance between you shrinks,
But it seems that time gets longer
It took forever to get to her.
Your heart is racing so fast
It’s like a drum-roll your throat.
Still with locked eyes, you tilt your head,
And she tilts hers as well.
You’ve lived this moment in your mind
Twenty or thirty times.
And the dreams did little justice
To how breath-taking it really is.
Closer once more you move to her
You take a photo of this moment in your mind.
And just before your lips meet hers,
She closes her eyes and you close yours.
Moving in slow motion now,
You ignore the trembling and the drum-roll,
All the anticipation leads to this moment,
And finally…
so... i like her as those of you who are close to me know. im really excited to see what happens in the future. i guess you could say i am full of anticipation. haha. anyway, talk to you later. and it has been a long time. so yeah. hey.
final thought: i got two, and i meant to get a hot coffee, but i didnt know that frappachino's were frozen. it sounded like it would be hot... haha...
