be my eyes
lead me past the tangles of grassand
flashes of gray light
run with me into the open fields,
keep my face far from the muddy ground.

changes in our predicted challenge have taken
away my vision and security
my old senses were stolen by a masked shadowed creature
i've been handed new ones,
but i'm not quite sure how they work

people's laughter sting my wound like
lemon juice
unfamiliar textures trouble me
just take my hand and we'll venture to
a new universe
with surprising twists and falls
i cant be without you

i am only allowed to view the curves
of my eyelids
so take me, teach me, mold us into one

be my eyes,
protect me from unleveled pieces of earth and
raw, reddened skin
speak to me in an assuring manner as i grasp
onto a metal tower

i fall all over myself with the
new senses resisting commands
through developing trust and patience
bravery has broken past hesitation
memories of the unknown cake to my feet

a weight of fear has been laced
to my sides
the absence of vision has lasted for a while
like a still image
your point of view
penetrating my direction
although this disability is temporary,
i have come a long way since the start

my eyes cant see the low braches and bumps
in teh soft dirt
so hold me, fight me, shape us into one
