Title: Time
Pairing: RyoShige
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: yeah, whatever
Summary: Time is a complicated little thing as Ryo and Shige have found out.
A/N: ...I'M SOSOSOSO SORRY. I have not updated in seven, SEVEN?!?!? weeks. I hope this makes up for it even a little, though it probably doesn't.
Anyways, this again from my prompt table, do check it out.
Time. It’s a funny little thing, actually. It’s amazing how little time some things take and how much others take. Let’s say, the moon. It circles around the Earth, just like Earth itself circles the sun. But the moon takes 30 days to complete its tour whereas the Earth spends 365 and a quarter days, a whole 8766 hours, to completely circle the sun.
If we take a much more down to Earth approach to this question, let’s take Shige, Yamapi and Ryo as an example. As kids, Yamapi and Ryo’s friendship was formed in a matter of hours and has become stronger ever since. Yamapi and Shige took a few years to form theirs. It wasn’t that they hated each other, they just didn’t seem to have much in common. Then there’s the relationship between Shige and Ryo. They DID hate each other, or at least Ryo did, it seems. Whatever they had, took nearly six years to become what it is now.
Now as the two sit curled up together on the couch with an open photo album with them, they silently curse time for being a bitch. Why can’t they go back and do things differently? Time, it’s a one-way street. No turning back. They curse themselves for not seeing what was right in front of them, for not loving each other from the beginning.
Even more so, they curse the time that was taken away from them. Had the suspension not happened, would they have come together earlier? Nobody knows.
Their photo album shows the early years, Ryo’s glare, Shige’s rather stupid hair, as Ryo never forgets to point out, their funny teenage appearances. Ryo’s arms around Shige instinctively tighten and he buries his face in the younger man’s shoulder. And he curses time, for not healing the wounds he once created in his heart, for not making him forget everything he said to Shige back then. He curses the people who repeat the saying “time heals” over and over again.
“Bullshit,” he mumbles into the firm shoulder in front of him. He more feels than hears Shige’s chuckle and as he looks up he finds Shige smiling down at him. Then Shige’s gaze reverts back to the album as he flips the page. “Time, why couldn’t you just stop there?” Ryo silently asks. Then he looks at the album and sees Shige skipped some pages.
Now he’s looking at rather recent pictures he took himself on their trip to Okinawa. The pictures show Ryo laughing at the camera, or at Shige behind it, the pictures show the two of them making faces at the camera as Shige holds it at an arm’s length, they show Ryo looking at Shige with adoration in his eyes, they show Shige smiling a genuine smile at Ryo. One picture shows them kissing with a sunset in the background.
Time, why can’t it just skip the rough patches like a photo album?
A while later Ryo finally releases his hold of Shige in order to put the photo album away and to tuck the younger man into their bedroom. A little later, Ryo’s asleep with his head in the crook of Shige’s neck. As Shige turns his head to bury his face in Ryo’s black hair and breath in his scent, he pleads. Time, I’m happy if you stop now. He knows it’s impossible, but he can always hope. Though that hope is destroyed when he hears the clock on the bedside table inch a minute forward.
I know we can’t turn back time or get the time we lost back. But time, don’t take him away from me. Ever. Shige breathes Ryo’s scent again and promptly falls asleep.

Again, I'm so sorry. And I shouldn't even try to apologize my "absence" with this, it's an utter fail.
Also, if someone cares (I doubt anybody does but anyway) my multichaptered fic, A Fairytale of Four Entwined Fates, is on hold at least. I have not deleted it, but I'm not happy with it so I have made it a private entry after reconsidering it. Now I feel I never should have posted it. I think, someday, I will re-write it completely, most likely as a one-shot.
Thanks for reading.
IF YOU LEAVE A COMMENT, I'LL LOVE YOU TO DEATH!!!!! (That sounds much scarier than it should.)
[edit] wow, there was one big ass mistake, not spelling or even grammar, but in my physics knowledge.
