And I stood there in awe. He was perfect. He was like an angel. His pale complexion made him look dead. But I knew…I knew he was among the living. Mortal. Just like me. He had problems and had to deal with drama. The events of today showed that to me.

When I saw the hit, my heart almost stopped beating, as my boyfriend lay broken on the ground.

I watched him run from the bar, out into the night, and vanish into the darkness.

I walked into our bedroom to find Vinny sitting by the window, watching the rain, as a single tear fell down his cheek.

We walked hand-in-hand on the beach, the water occasionally hitting our feet, as we left temporary footprints in the wet sand.

He could tell I was sore after the game, and instructed me to lay down to give me a massage.

Every day that goes by, is one day closer to when he can go back on the ice.

When I saw the hit, and later found out he’d need surgery, I asked God, “Why Vinny?” I later realized that everything happens for a reason.

I’ve always wanted to teach him how to snowboard, but he’s always too busy, and Florida doesn’t get snow.

I was asleep in my room, when I heard him whisper my name. I slid over, him joining me in my bed, as a crash of thunder shook the house, and lightning lit up the sky.

He and a few of our friends were playing around in our house and I didn’t know he would be dumb enough to hide behind a door. Apparently he was, and I went to open the door and heard an “Oomph!” sound before realizing I hit him.

“They say your whole life flashes before your eyes before you die. Make it a sight worth watching.” I told him.
“It will be worth watching if you’re a part of it,” he replied kissing me.
14. Wait
The doctors said it would be a while before he would be 100% again, but it’s something I’m okay with waiting for.

I never knew he was that addicted to Journey, until I found his quite large collection.
“Jeez, are you addicted?” I asked.
“No…” he replied.

I tried to give a recap of the accident, but I didn’t remember enough. “I remember the initial hit, but then everything went black,” I explained as he held my hand and stroked my hair.

“You’ve lost it,” he told me when I told him I wanted him to come bungee jumping with me.

I walked into the jail, only to find my boyfriend sitting behind bars with a very sheepish look on his face.

“I don’t want to be the bad guy here,” I told my niece after I caught her sneaking out of the house.

I looked over at him, only to find him asleep, before smiling and turning my attention back to the long ribbon on highway.

Tears leaked down my cheek when I saw him on one knee, a ring in his hand, and a smile on his face.

“How do you miss the exit?” I mock-screamed as he turned a deep shade of red. “Are you blind?”

We made a promise to always be friends no matter what.

After the seemingly endless voyage over the ocean, we finally arrived in Hawaii.

“Vinny! Stop throwing acorns, you jackass!” I screamed as I ducked out of the way, as another one whizzed past my head.

He handed me a piece of paper with tears in his eyes. I read, “The Selective Services regrets to inform Mr. Vincent Lecavalier that…” before I too started crying.

He enjoys doing community service, to give back. He started his own charity too, so, I’d say he likes doing good things.

I turned on my iPod and found a song labeled ‘Unknown’. It started playing and I smiled, knowing my boyfriend had written it for me.

When I told him I was going scuba diving, he told me it was too dangerous going in the ocean that deep.

Getting a call from the hospital saying he’d been in and accident and that he wasn’t doing well, made my heart stop beating.

I was dreading the day he was going in for shoulder surgery.

We sat there holding hands, watching the bonfire hiss and cackle, while the fire scorched the logs.

I lay in bed watching the neon green numbers change, because I couldn’t fall asleep, since I missed him.

The first time I heard the three words “I love you” I knew I felt the same way.

He had just gotten a new car and wanted to see how fast it would go. I was sitting in the front with him when he floored it, not expecting it to go that fast. But it’s a sports car, what should I expect?

When we were in Rome, we found a wishing well, hoping that we would spend the rest of our lives together.

We were at the Humane Society looking at dogs, when we found a hairless one and Vinny started laughing. I have to admit, it wasn’t pretty looking.
