BPAL - Apple of Sodom, Poisoned Apple, Strawberry Moon, Black Cat Crossed My Path, Come To Me
The Apple of Sodom & Poisoned Apple
P.A.: A perfect, lovely, gleaming red apple whose sweetness masks a swirl of narcotic opium, oleander, and hemlock.
A.o.S: Native to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, this fruit turns to ashes when plucked as a sign of God's displeasure.
I just found out that I don't like apple scents. (And I thought I really would!) Oh well.
Out of the two, I prefer Apple of Sodom, and I'm considering keeping the imp to try it again on summer. At first it is too strong and apple-y, but when it dries down it gets more pleasant. This is a more somber, serious scent (as far as an apple scent can be somber, that is!) while Poisoned Apple is too tart and sweet, nauseatingly so.
Color - Poisoned Apple: granny-smith green
Apple of Sodom: gray with a dark green tint
Veredict: Poisoned Apple needs to go; will keep Apple of Sodom for the summer
Strawberry Moon
Wild strawberries, strawberry flower, vanilla-infused sugar, early summer grasses, and milky dandelion sap.
Another note I'd swear I'd love, but I don't: strawberry. Too sweet, too foody, too artificial, too "this belongs in a cake and not in a perfume". I sprayed Armany Code all over it, to mask the nauseating smell. This is supposed to smell like strawberries and grass (doesn't it sound nice???), but the grass was in the background, I barely noticed it.
Color: translucid light red
Too bad I blindly bought a bottle of this, which now I'll have to get rid of. :-( Beautiful label, though.
Veredict: needs to go
Conjure Oils - Black Cat Crossed My Path
Did that darling kitty just trash your luck? How could such a sweet critter cause so much fear and misunderstanding? Reclaim the black cat as the rightful symbol of good luck that it is! Black vanilla, blacker amber and blackest patchouli, sugar peach, midnight musk and sweet cream
Another bottle that I bought blindly (the description sounded good, and I LOVE black cats!) and now I'll have to get rid of. Hate at first sniff, confirmed later when I applied some to my skin.
To me this smells like a nauseatingly sweet mix of artificial caramel & cream, about to go rancid. (Nice imagery there!) I think that sums it up. Not pleasant in my kitchen, let alone on my skin!
Color: caramel
Veredict: needs to go

A phenomenally powerful attractant. Sexual and commanding in the extreme.
This smells like soap to me. Strong soap, hard to ignore. "Phenomenally powerful attractant?" Only if I had a shower fetish! I washed it off my wrist after 2 minutes - with my own mildly scented soap. (Maybe it would get better after 2 min, but sorry, I didn't feel like waiting, or going to work like that.)
Veredict: Swap box. Maybe someone else will get turned on over this.
