Adventures in resin addiction

I have lost my freaking mind and am insane. I bought another doll.

This while already waiting on 2 dolls that I bought at the end of April. Both those dolls (Dollshe Classic Mini Saint and Granado 53cm crowdfund Lucifer) have a production time of gods only know when. For the uninitiated, it isn't uncommon to wait a year (or more) for a Dollshe doll ( Read more... )

I'd wondered what happened to you as you seemed to drop off the world. You don't typically blow stuff like that off so I assumed that you were going through stuff.

I'm sorry to hear about your mom. Losing a parent is hard no matter how old you are. You just kind of assume they'll always be there even when you know that's not possible. I hadn't known about Meridea passing away.

I am the Trustee of my brother's estate now. The Hubby is going through all the stuff and selling it off. We expect him to be there for quite some time because there's just that much shit. Gotta get the house re-roofed *sigh*, a back-flow preventor installed and have the living room wall finishes and ceiling removed and replaced with new stuff. And sometime between now and early fall, I still need to spread my brother's ashes as he wished and that requires co-ordination between me and my cousin who literally lives across the country from me. Wheeeee! Fun stuff.

Possibly my recent doll purchases are how I'm dealing with stress? I want to say I doubt it as I've never done that before but... *shrugs*. I do want them. Badly. Dunno if I can avoid the temptation of the DC Clemans for Naicree *cringes*.

If you've got the money and feel safe in spending it, you'll kick yourself if you don't get the DC Clemans for Naicree.

Ashes. My sister has been doing the work over my parents' ashes. I did go through all the paperwork Mom left here so both Mom and Daddy's ashes can be interred at the local National Cemetery. Daddy's ashes have been resting on their mantal at Mom and my sister's house. That was 'interesting'. Found their wedding certificate, Daddy's death certificate showing they were still married when he died and his Honorable Discharge papers from his time during WW2. Normally they'd be on record in Washington DC but they had a fire and lost certain years worth of records. I have the original papers which they lost. Sent copies to my sister and other siblings. Did not want to send the original through the mail. The internment is in mid August with at least a bugler and it looks like my sister, daughter, son and me. Other siblings are unable to get down here due to medical constraints. They were here for our Mom's death and that was more important.

Enough. You doll purchases are interesting. They are not cute and fluffy... well maybe the DC Clemans is cute, but they are interesting to look at with a surreal beauty.

I have been diligent in my dolly savings (I have an account for that, of course I do *rolls eyes*) so I'm more than fine on that score.

Ashes... In the weird and wonderful state that is my life, things had been happening at my brother's house. Strange noises like banging or footsteps when there was nothing to cause said noises, doors opening and closing on their own, lights flickering or turning on by themselves. When I was there last, I was going to spread his ashes but was stopped by nature in the form of a wicked series of thunder/lightening storms that actually kept my cousin from reaching me (he knows where to spread the ashes, I don't). So in preparation for that, the Hubby picked up the ashes from the funeral home. Since the ashes have been in the house on the shelf along with the dog's ashes (which he wanted spread with his), all weirdness in the house has stopped.

I don't have a lot of cute/fluffy dolls (or characters). You have not seen Kathiel or Oleander. Possibly not Valerian or Ondraeden either. They're hot and bad-ass and intense but not cute.
