new glasses and doll wig

yea! I have new glasses! They are very cool and the scrip is certainly stronger than my old pair. It's also wicked cool to not have a million tiny scratches all over the damn lenses. I think I'll be going through a slight adjustment period with the new glasses as my eyes need to get used to the new scrip. I'm quite pleased though. I do find myself trying to push the new glasses up the bridge of my nose when they don't need to have that done. I can only assume I did that fairly often with my old glasses.

I also finished Jolen's wig this evening. Quite a bit of work in making it, but he's a bald dolly no more. I will need to add some velcro to keep the wig from sliding around, but for all intents and purposes, it is done.

Front view of crocheted wig cap. The trailing strands are the ends of the yarn I was using, unravelled to blend with the rest of his hair.

Side view of wig cap showing cut out around his ears. It might seem like there's lots of space there, but once I start adding strands, it'll fill up fast.

Rear view of wig cap.

Taadah! The completed wig. Is not the colour gorgeous on this? It's actually two different colours and types of yarn. The lighter one is a bamboo yarn and is silky soft and slightly slippery. The darker one is a crochet cotton. I separated both yarns into their respective strands and used 2 strands of the lighter one and 1 strand of the darker one for each place that I latch hooked. The strands are VERY thin with the crochet cotton ones being about twice the thickness of sewing thread.

So, I have finished Jolen's wig and if I'm very lucky, I might be able to get to Jaiseki's wings this weekend. I'm not holding my breath on that though *snorts*.
