I played my first round of golf this year today. It's also the first time I've played since last July. So how did I do so good? I ended up shooting an 83, which is one of my better rounds.
It started poorly with my first shot going into a pond, and I ended up with a double bogey on the hole. However, it was my only double bogey of the day. I ended up with 13 bogeys, 2 pars, 1 birdie, and 1 eagle. Yes, just the third or fourth eagle I've ever scored in 10+ years of playing this game. I was on the 328 yard, par 4 16th hole and hit my drive just yards short of the green. I walked up to the ball, grabbed the wedge, and hit my shot. There was no doubt it was going in the hole from the way it felt, and I just stood back and watched it roll in. It was so sweet.
Also, when I was on the third hole some guy on another tee looked over and said, "Nice hat." Of course he was referring to da Chicago Cubs cap I had on. Da fans are everywhere ya go, and they all love da cubbies.
