I desperately want to study abroad in China for a year but I just had a meeting with my advisor and she said it would be more likely that I could for a semester or summer. That is far too short! How am I supposed to submerge myself into another culture in only 2 or 4 months?I found a program I really like from the State Department. It focuses heavily on anthropology so I was attracted to it immediately. It is relatively low in price. (Under $20,000.)I have to get the program apporved by my advisor, then her superiors, then fulfill the 2 hour application process. Either way I'm excited but have to wait until december to apply. Hopefully I can gather funds, financial aid, and the ever-excrusiatingly slow approval process from a university. I also like the fact that this program is connected to the state department. (Looks good when you apply for their jobs) haha. I would like to leave next fall. It would be hard being away from family on holidays. Especially Chris, Kody, and Keilan.
Speaking of my love, things are going awfully well between us as of late. I hope this trend continues. I am still adjusting to not having him around but I have decided to accept this as a trial period for when I go abroad. It will be difficult to not see him. Since we met in first grade I have at most not seen him for 3 months (summers). Since we have started dating we've only spent I think 3 consequetive nights apart.
On another, more definate note, I am very excited about the holidays. Who's with me?
