Well, by way of explanation, when I started this - my first ever fanfiction - I didn't have a clue where I was going with it, where it would be set, whodunnit, victim, method of ghastly death - nothing, zip, nada. Even the title came from a song a friend and I used to sing for a very silly reason, so the title bears no relation whatsoever to anything other than the chapter headings. I just knew I wanted to write about Booth and Brennan and try to capture a little bit of that chemistry that I loved. In fact that's where my LJ name came from: 2bbornot2bb. Would I write fanfiction that got them together (2bb), or in (earlier) canon and keep them apart (ornot2bb)? That was the question!

"Hey, Bones, ready to hit the road?" I sooo itched to get Brennan to actually hit the road somehow or other, or with something, but that was going too far. Wasn't it? I spent a lot of this story amusing myself writing rationally/logical/literal Brennanisms that I immediately deleted as being way too over the top. Maybe ( ... )
