3 Reasons Obama Will Not Win The Election.

Aug 25, 2008 12:58

In keeping up with the race for President, I'm disappointed to say that I no longer believe Obama has a chance in hell of winning. If I'm wrong, I'll be the first one to cheer. But the reasons are beginning to stack up against him ( Read more... )

I think i'm going to sit this one out, and watch from the sidelines. If all goes south, i have a easy ticket out of this country. I care, but to me politics are just that politics. Talking about that accomplishes about as much as this post does, almost nothing. In my mind anyways.

McCain seems to be pandering to the right just to get their vote, but I don't think that is where his heart really is. Look at his statements from about 8 years ago and I think that is the True McCain. I get the feeling that McCain winning wouldn't be nearly as bad as another 4 years with W.

Hmm, I suppose he would be better than shoving a porcupine in your ass.

Yeah, I can only hope. But It's sad to see someone like McCain pandering to any side.

If I agree with no one from any party, I think it'd be best to go write in "No Body" and then vote for them, that way you can show you agree with none of them, and it will be on the record. It might even spark an interest from your local media.

While I agree Clinton would have been a good choice as a running mate, I know for a fact that a lot of people have VERY strong opinions against Clinton, even more so than Obama. I would guess one of the reasons not to pick her is because of that strong anti-clinton sentiment. I don't agree with it personally, but that's what I've heard from my Republican mother & her many horrible republican slander radio shows. :/

I'd rather fight McCain 20% of the time than Obama 80% of the time. McCain's stance on the Defense of Marriage Act and his McCain/Feingold campaign finance bill are what's preventing me from swinging completely in his direction.

McCain isn't doing anything different from what happened in 2004. And that was a farce ( ... )

Edit: Er, "Well, the big restriction on taking that money is that you have to spend everything before the conventions."

The real problem is that a lot of people think of the Clintons as the democratic part. There have been few presidents in recent times that were democrat, and the only one was Clinton. So a lot of people worry about electability of anyone who is not Clinton.

Anyways, as for Obama campaign strategy, the problem he is facing now is that, to beat Clinton, he had to make a lot of noise and campaign hard. This is way too early to be campaigning like that, people will wear out on this message. So the convention will be high key, because the convention must be, but there will be a relative lull. It risks turning off a lot of supporters, but for the undecided vote getting a clear and hard message closer to the day of the vote will be for the best.

And on a less serious note, your icon is extraordinary cute, I want to hug it ^_^

Yeah, I've thought about that too. I was a huge enthusiastic Obama supporter during the primaries, and even now I'm kind of washed out. It's not that I'm any less enthusiastic about his presidency, but I've kinda spent a lot of my energy on cheering during the primaries.

I think that lull that you(and most people) are seeing is necessary. He'll take a breather, let McCain make some gains as he's been doing with his negative campaigning, and then in the last few months before the general election, he's going to pull out the big guns and make some stunning speeches, and he'll ride the momentum into the election.

Also; awww, thanks! =D It's a friend's drawing of my Second Life avatar. This is the full thing, if you're curious: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/585507/
