I have joined community 12in2008 and committed to writing 12 stories, at or over 1,000 words, during 2008.
For anyone who is looking at getting back into the habit of writing or pushing themselves to write longer works, it's a great idea. There are no specific prompts and you don't have to commit to a single pairing or fandom, like many other challenge sites, so it's up to you to determine how you want to go forward. Also, you pick what word length you want to commit to, so you can do as much or as little as you want.
