It's been a little over a month since I last posted, saying how overwhelmed I was with my new adjunct teaching job. A month later, I still can say that this first semester of teaching, even this one class, is a very time-consuming experience, but I'm no longer completely overwhelmed by it. I finished my dissertation prospectus! FINALLY! I've been working on this for months, and it's done. Now to get it to professors and hear feedback... :-) So relieved that I finished it this summer right under the wire before the new year starts tomorrow. Dissertations are scary. There's just like, so many things that could go wrong to be scared about. *sigh.

It's like NaNoWriMo, but for scholars. Stupid name, but a nice idea.
I'm challenging myself to WRITE this month, and get a dent on that prospectus!

I spent so much time writing this up (and turned it in today!) that I figured I should post it here - WHY I want to work out of the SLU Madrid campus in the Spring! This was for a grant in the history department. This trip is not going to be cheap - keep your fingers crossed that they find it worth funding!
