Even though the pictures are pretty crappy, I love my phone and instagram. It's great for when I forget or it's inconvenient to have a real camera on me. I also like throwing up pics on facebook so instantly on a day to day basis - I know my family loves seeing what I'm up to, even if the rest of the world might not need to see that many pictures of my dog. ;-)
Friday: I fixed my bike (finally!) and rode to campus to run a few quick errands. It's been too long, purple bike! I only wish my apartment building had a bike garage like our last place did. I can't leave it outside in their bike rack (lest it rust again) and its a pain hauling it up and down stairs. But it was definitely a nice ride to the office (my location with the shiny windows), even in a skirt!
After a long week of work, Casey had a little nap on the couch with Charlie. I <3 them.
So adorable.
Friday night, we took a leisurely walk in the Central West End, and got some ice cream as we looked at the historic houses lit up in the early evening.
Mmmmm Raspberry Sorbet!
I was super charmed by the beautiful, massive, historic street lamps, which have recently been restored:
As we walked back to the car, we decided to find out what this birdcage thing is we've been seeing from the road for years, but have never explored.
You can't say much in this photo, but it's like a beautiful patio area, with benches and tables and a trickley fountain and twinkle lights. It was super romantic, but we didn't stay long since it was getting so dark.
Saturday: After Casey got back from training, we went over to Constantine's house where he was having his "Joe Reidy is a dirtbag" farewell BBQ. He and Joe used to pretend to hate each other, which is funny cause they're two of the nicest people in the department. We had BBQ, chatted about the upcoming Hobbit movie, and watched Ghostbusters, which I'd never seen. We also went outside and played washers and ladder ball. The worst moment was when the wind blew my dress up and I flashed the world. *SO embarrassed.* Jamie helped me out by lending me a pair of shorts, which was a godsend because the wind did NOT let up.
Later in the evening after some of the guests began to dwindle, we decided to play some party games - I suggested Mafia, and we had a blast.
The Mafia Family
Ian died... A LOT.
Accusing John, even though he was ALWAYS innocent!
Heated accusations!!!
And a few samples from Jamie's instagram feed that made me smile:
FUN! Kyle accusing Casey, Casey accusing Phil, Phil accusing Jamie, me laughing at everyone! I love this photo so much.
I was the murderer often, but I never killed Casey <3
It was a very fun night.
Sunday: Today I went to pottery. I really liked this summer session because it was just Me, Vicky, and Maria in the class and we got a lot of one-on-one instruction from Tom. So I got to play with things that I normally might not, like learning to use the copper carbonate wash for interesting running effects. I can't wait to see how this vase turns out! I also trimmed the plates he showed me how to make with the plate rib last time - I think they're going to come out nice.
Today we also ran some errands, buzzed by the Farmer's Market, and of course, watched Community. We burned through the whole first season last week and are laughing a ton at the second now. :-)
