Many Shades of Gray

In case you were wondering, here's what I wore on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week. All the outfits had a lot of gray for some reason. Maybe I'm mourning the end of summer weather, since Friday was officially the first day of Fall. This week really had it's ups and downs, and it took me awhile before I really perfected my lesson for the week. On Wednesday it was a bit rocky, but by Friday it was great. I like getting to do my lesson 4 times a week, it really helps me see what works in the classroom, and what doesn't.

Monday

Purple Pinstripe Dress: Target
Gray Cardigan: Gap Outlet
White braided belt: From an Anthro skirt
White sandals: American Eagle

Purple Necklace: Graduation gift from Grandma
White gold hoops: Gift from Grandma
Purple loops: Claire's in the 90s!

I was a bit preoccupied wearing this dress on Monday, cause I was worried it was too low-cut. But I was so unbelievably comfortable in this soft cotton dress and this super soft cardigan, and the bow belt made the outfit feel extra sweet and pretty, so I decided not to worry to much about the cleavage cause the outfit made me feel so good and cozy.

Tuesday

Gray Music tee: Aeropostale
Pink corduroy skirt: American Eagle, gift from Mom c.2005?
White braided Belt: From an Anthro skirt
Gray suede heels: Nine West Outlet

Tuesday I wore this outfit to my Early Modern Seminar. That class is a bear but so far I'm getting really good grades on the assignments, which makes me feel confident that I'll do well.
Tuesdays I don't see students at all (I attend the 111 lecture on Monday and Wednesday, and then teach Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) so Tuesdays I feel like I get to dress just for me. Which apparently meant more gray. This is one of my favorite t-shirts cause it's got love and music all over it, which makes me happy.

Silver "Loved" Locket: Anniversary gift from Casey
Treble Clef Earrings: Elementary school? I think they were a gift for an orchestra concert many moons ago!

Wednesday
On Wednesday it was back up to nearly 80, so I put on a soft jersey dress for teaching. One of my students said she liked my shoes. :-) I was glad to wear this dress again before the chilly rainy Thursday weather set in.

Gray speckled dress: Ann Taylor Loft
Blue Belt: Target
Gray Suede Heels: Nine West Outlet

I'm not sure if I chose the bird jewelry today because I was drawn to the darker silver of these pieces, or if because the fluttery sleeves on this dress remind me of wings, and birds. Either way, I liked my birdie accessories! I've been so enjoying having the hummingbirds at my feeder this summer and I'm sad they'll be migrating away soon.

Silver hummingbird earrings: No idea, childhood
Silver bird necklace: Used to be my Mom's, restrung by me.

Looks like it's gonna be a good weekend. Last night Casey and I ate chinese food and drank sangria while watching a movie together - it was a multicultural and very relaxing date night on the couch. Tonight's the UFC PPV at Matt's place, and Sunday I have pottery! Good times. part of me wants to feel guilty that all that stuff will get in the way of how much work I have to get done, but I don't want to give up having a life. I think it's what's keeping me sane and successful in grad school.
