Yesterday pottery class was GREAT. I am finally getting the hang of porcelain. I've always felt that pottery progress is like, wide stairs, rather than a gentle constant upward progression. I make a big jump out of the blue, and then plateau at that new height for quite awhile. Like, no progress for months. And then, bam, something clicks, suddenly I'm better. I've been having a lot of trouble with porcelain, especially centering, and would keep anything that would actually turn OUT, since that was so rare. But yesterday I threw these big, gorgeous, graceful bowls! I was thrilled and beaming that suddenly I could handle this new, difficult material. HUZZAH!
In other news, other than a break yesterday for dirty pottery clothes, I'm still wearing my new shoes. I love them.
Shoes: Indigo by Clarks
Denim Skirt: Ann Taylor Loft
Orange top: Kohls
Belt: Target
Necklace: x-mas gift from Casey (2006?)
Earrings: Heart ones, Gift from Aunt Carol; Coral ovals, Gift from Mom
Casey got me this silver heart necklace with real coral beads years ago. At the time I thought it was sweet that he remembered I love coral. It's a little young and whimsical looking now, but I still love to wear it.
And in other Casey-present-news, my bouquet is still blooming - new lilies are opening every day, and it makes me happy.
Today, I'm thinking super productivity. Time to walk the dog, make lunch, an then get to work at the office! Yesterday was 115 degrees (with the heat index, only 98 otherwise) and today's looking to be the same, but I bet I will still end up throwing on a hoodie at the office. SLU wastes so much energy blasting the AC there!
