I'm such a good 50's housewife.

It's been a domestic evening. First, doing laundry, folding laundry, and mending clothes - I had to sew up the hole my bike chomped into the hem of my wide leg green trousers, and then I had to add a button to my blue trousers. They're both better now. I'm glad I ALWAYS stockpile the extra buttons that come in the little baggie attached to your tag when you buy clothes! Years later I still had the exact right button for those pants.

I've been looking forward to baking for days. Something. Anything! Today I was going to make cookies, but I am getting kind of bored of the same old oatmeal chocolate chip recipe I always make. (Granted, it is a tried-and-true recipe made of win!) So flipping through my "cookbook" (read: my green spiral notebook of recipes... I gotta register for an actual recipe book!) I came across my grandmother's Butterscotch Brownies recipe! NUMMY! My Grandma used to pack them in my dad's lunch in highschool, but when he started dating my mom, she'd steal them, and so Grandma had to start packing two. Haha! They're great. They're a little tricky to get just right, so I'm hoping they come out delicious! They already smell amazing. Baking is so calming; I don't know why I don't do it more.

I really wish I owned an apron. Baking in my white button down teaching shirt = bad plan.
