Danielle was here this weekend! And we had so much fun! See?
That's us out on a walk in Forest Park. This is the best picture that exists of the three of us! I think we were all curious to see how this weekend was going to go, and I'm really glad to say it was really relaxing, fun, and nice to see Danielle again. I've really missed having her around, (as a close friend and an excellent distraction from reading!). Highlights from the weekend included seeing Slumdog Millionaire (which I highly highly recommend EVERYONE go see) at the boozehole (the movie was introduced by ads, screen facts about actors, previews, as well as a short concert on the organ played by an elderly man! Why? No idea, but I loved it); eating out at the West End Grill and Pub (yay for exploring the new neighborhood!), Macaroni Grill, and the Mediterranean Oasis (FINALLY FOUND IT! - it's less greek and more arabic and jordanian food, but it was yummy. I liked that my gyro was smothered in hummus!); nighttime walking in the CWE; some highly productive gift-card spending shopping at the Galleria mall (I <3 Anne Taylor Loft); walking and talking in Forest Park; 60-70 degree weather in February; watching UFC; life-chats at the kitchen table about the times together in St. Louis; and of course... SEEING TWELFTH NIGHT!!! and going to the cast party afterward! I am so glad I saw the show again with Danielle! I will discuss the show in a later post.
What a great weekend. Because my Monday class was pushed til Friday due to my professor's jury duty sentence, (and because I planned ahead and got stuff done during the week) I was able to take the whole weekend off to just hang out with Casey and Danielle. It reminded me of the really good times we had living together in the city. I miss it, even though life is working out really well for all of us now living apart. I'm glad to see she's doing so well, and looks so great!
Today now I must get back to reading. I've read about Medieval Scotland and Medieval Wales, but now I must read articles about the medieval bible! I also washed my filthy hardwood floors today (I felt inGENIOUS with my technique of using both a swiffer wet cloth and a spraybottle of murphy's wood oil soap!) and now they're very clean/good-smelling.
Last night, after Danielle left, I went over to Kendra's for bonding fun time with her and Robert. We chatted and laughed and ate delicious Stromboli that Robert made and perfectly salted corn that Kendra prepared. After our fabulous meal and much chattage, we made tea and finished watching the Three Musketeers! After Casey got out of his closing Sunday Matinee of 12th Night, he came over and finished the movie with us. I'm glad I'm making good friends. I had to turn down a hockey date with Kristi and Carrie this weekend - I hope I get a chance to hang out with them again soon too - I bet they'd be good shopping buddies...
In the evening, Casey SHAVED HIS BEARD!!! He'd been so excited to get rid of that thing. To see the amusing abbreviated saga, click the cut below! For the full saga, you'll have to visit my Picasa Web Album, Winter 08-09.
