Friends!
Yesterday I did some RA research for Dr. Popiel, and let me tell you, papal bulls are not easy to track down. You'd think there'd be a database or something for like "All Papal Bulls middle ages to present" But no, they're scattered all over the place. Bah. Now that I'm starting to get my hands on them, I'm going through them, but I wish I didn't have to be AT the library to do it. I don't know how I'm going to magically squeeze a part time job's worth of research time into my already homework-packed schedule.
Jen emailed me after my "where do I start looking for papal bulls?" question, and she sent me an awesome website full of them, but they're all in Latin and Italian. I should be able to read those languages just fine (in theory) but... gah... I'd like an english translation please do I can get my work done fast-like.
(PS Julia - I buy lots of "Freshlike!" frozen veggies here!)
Also notable yesterday was Danielle's delicious stir fry, and MUCH ADO!!!! I went over to Kendra's apartment because we had plans to watch MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING! I'd never seen the movie and she's a big shakespeare aficionado. We had so much fun and talked until like 11:20 pm, much later than I expected to stay. We have a lot in common with the LOTR posters and firefly stuff and love of renaissance paintings and whatnot. And we didn't get Any Augustine read, though that was never really the plan. Oh we laughed so hard at the movie because it was so ridiculous! Playing in a fountain? YES! Oh, and Keanu is such a bad actor.
"I need you like [Keanu] needs acting school; he was TERRIBLE in that film!"
