Family History

So when Grandma was in, she told me about how far back the family history goes on her side, and that our family has been in America since the late 17th century when William Penn came over with the Quakers! I didn't know I was decided from followers of the Inner Light! Nor did I know that I am like a one-millionth generation American. I guess I'll have to get that number a little more accurate after I read the family records again. I also learned that the china cabinet in Grandma's family room is from 1725! I hope I'm recalling that correctly. How fascinating. I knew it was an antique and a family one at that, but I had no idea.

Also, Margie called today and since she's been going through all of Janet's things she found a huge BOX of documents from the 1850s that have to do with my family on my Mom's side! She said that there's all sorts of awesomely fascinating material in there and I can't WAIT to go through the documents with her. She said we need to have a date and organize and read it all. Also, by looking at some documents, she found out that my Great-Grandmother Voss might have been an illegitimate child, because she was born 20 years before her mother married her husband, and there's no name listed as a father on her birth certificate. Weeeird.....

Well, tonight I'm going out dancing, which Grammie said I get from Great-Grandma Voss - wohoo! Better get more Latin done before I go!
