BONJOUR!
i have returned from Canada, Woot.
it was interesting. we were a little late on thursday. left the house at 7 instead of six, so we got to Quebec at 1. the woman at the border thought we were Canadian at first (even tho we have an American flag on the front of our truck) and started rattling off in french...ummm... so we were the last ones to arrive at the show.
ok, so my mom and i took the moped out to look at the course for the marathon only to discover that it had it was barely marked, so we kinda got lost. and everything was really muddy. so yay for competition. our hotel was plagued by swallows. and it was empty, there were like five people besides us staying.
so stadning outside it was like a cross between "the Birds" and "the Shining" and our window overlooked the pool, which was empty and filled with winter pool scum...and leaves.
but it was a nice hotel. and they let George stay with us. poor george, having to run all over Canada. the most exercise he gets in an average day is running downstairs to bark at people.
soo... day 1
dressage, meh. They had standing presentation, so i had to stand with the pony in the ring while judges, um,judged how nice we looked. so i spent forever cleaning. i ended up second in dressage and presentation. out of five in my division! yay! ha ha no...
so we went back to the hotel at, sometime late after my my and i walked through the hazzards, which were scarry. it was like: 'ok, hmm how could we make this more difficult? OH! iknow how about when they're driving through the water we put a gate up the steepest hill we could find?! YES!'
and the place had some serious hills.
ok so day 2
i couldn't sleep the night before so i surfed the chanels. lots of american shows. i almost ended up watching a poorly french-dubed LOST, but ended up with and office rerun in english. i <3 that show.
ok so marathon was fun. the hazzards were not as bad as i had worried. we passed ther vet checks fine. the pony was good.
omg did i mention the music? ha ha ha ha it was so random. the loudspeakers were set up to play music sometimes during the day. the first song they played? the Indiana Jones theme song (oh yea!) the second? 'i wanna hold your hand"- the beatles... ??? only tres confusing...
ha ha ha AND i got to learn some french! ok not much... Merci, oui, non, and ummm there was something else...como talle vous? ok so i don't speak french. and my spelling is awful.
anyway. i was 4th in the marathon (but i still beat one person...wow i AM a loser)
and the cones course? OMG wiat a minute DINNER! the food was tres interesting...
maple suryp...pork rinds...hot dogs (chopped)(of course)...baked beans... and various maple suryp desserts.
Why must i habitually involve myself in obscure sports? if i had just joined soccer i would'nt have to explain things to people or go to canada cause thats the closest competition until september... *sigh*
CAUSE ITS SO DAMN FUN THATS WHY
oh no i am going crazy... oh well thats life...
so the rest of the competition was fun. the cones course was soo hard. i went clean tho, so yay. but that dosen't give me an excuse for screwing up the easier ones... pfft whatever, i need more practice.
i ended up coming in 2nd over all so yay for fun.
and now i am so tired i can barely type. it will be interesting, getting to sleep past 5:30 in the morning....
