The Funny is Jack...er, Back.
Oh, sweet sweet patriotism.
"Where on Earth has the comic been," you ask?
Well, it was essentially on hiatus as long as the show was gone.
I was working on a TV show at the time (Dancing with the Stars) and I just felt exhausted from the combination of drawing and working. Then the show ended, and I've been unemployed for the past 9 months. Takes the wind out of your sails.
But, in addition to returning to a weekly comic, I'm also working on a daily project, 365 Days of Character, whereupon I draw a new character every single day and put it up on my site blog. Bookmark it! That way you've got something to look at that isn't celebrity news or just plain bad news every day.

Well, I was afraid of this...
*SPOILER ALERT!*
...Renee has gone full Bauer. I saw this coming midway through last season, and I thought, 'if she's not careful, she's gonna turn into a lone-wolf, whatever-it-takes rebel like Jack'.
And I was right. Now how's that guy gonna hold his meat cleaver for work?
It was great to see Annie Wersching playing a cover role where she could break out from the worried/tired girl she's been since last season. The lady's got range.
I do have one problem with the season so far, and that's Dana Walsh--she could have just told the security guard that she didn't know her creepy ex-boyfriend and had him sent away, but NOOO, she had to go out and talk to him and start her own plotline. Given that she can deny him away, why on earth would you go and do that?
Because that's how the writers get her into the conspiracy plot, rather than just have her being a condescending hotshot inside CTU offices all day.
But hey, if it knocks her down a peg and gets her off Chloe's back, all the better.
Let's just hope that Katee can pull it off effectively. I love me some Starbuck, but it's always hard getting into an actor's new character when the old one was so memorable.
So far I'm pretty happy with the first four episodes, but that CTU is entirely too oddly lit with the lights seeping out from cracks in the wall--but I do appreciate that the layout is nearly identical to the old L.A. office with the staircase leading up to the offices. Halls are way too narrow though--feels claustrophobic.
