Harrumph. After days of relative warmth and intermittant sunshine, this afternoon has turned to the drizzle and biting wind that Wellington is famous for. However, the tree outside my window has burst into white blossoms, which are blowing all over the construction site. Mmm.
The drilling is back. They're doing it at seven in the morning. It makes the whole building vibrate loudly. Everyone is complaining. Loudly.
2000-word essay due on Friday for Classics. Not worried about subject, since I basically just have to get a few decent books out of the library, but we haven't had our first essay back, yet - I have no idea whether my bibliography was adequate or not. Grar.
Will be going to England on the fifth of January! Yay! But returning to Abu Dhabi on the 25th of January. Boo. Wanted at least some of February as well - possibly birthday in beautiful Norwich. Instead, will have to spend birthday here (not unacceptable, but potential to be a bit lonely) or in Abu Dhabi, which isn't bad either, but means being there for another fortnight before I go. Which, lovely though my parents are, may drive me insane. I have seen the light, man. The light is living in a place with three major, multi-story book shops, four music and DVD stores, a library, an art gallery and a major national museam within walking distance. The light is not Abu Dhabi.
LA Confidential is awesome. So is the third season of my darling Stargate: Atlantis, which continues to be the most delicious crack-laced candy ever produced by the SciFi channel.
