An update of great importance
I have bought the Doc Martens. I shopped around, but four different places told me that the Docs would last the longest, and though I vacillated for a time over a pair of lovely black ASICS walking shoes that were so comfortable it was like treading on a cloud, you guys, I decided that the boots would be worth it once I broke them in.
Oh, the breaking in. They pinch across the tops of my feet like an angry hermit crab. Despite that, I can feel how solid and balanced they are in the sole, so I'm pretty sure they're going to be awesome once they adjust to my enormous platypus feet. Ah well, best get started right away...
